Sarah E. Turner

Growing up, Sarah Turner developed a curiosity about and respect for wild creatures and places, and a love of stories and photography. Sarah first visited the Awaji Island Monkey Center in Japan as an undergraduate student in 1999 and has returned many times since to conduct behavioral field research on Japanese macaques. After completing her BA in women's studies, she went on to do an MSc and a PhD, both in primatology. Sarah lives with her family in Montreal, Quebec, where she combines writing, research and motherhood.
